Leanna Parkes, RMT

Leanna graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1999 and since then has been practicing in the White Rock/South Surrey area eventually realizing her dream of opening her own clinic in January 2009.

Leanna enjoys the challenges of treating a variety of conditions in individuals from all walks of life and in all stages/ages of their lives. Her practice encompasses everything from the relief of stress,  to an acute or chronic situation that may be caused by a sports injury, motor vehicle or work related accident, chronic illness/palliative care or working with the special needs of an expectant mother to be.

Leanna continues to strive to improve and refine her massage skills through attending a variety of continuing education courses such as muscle energy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release therapy, accupressure and pre and post natal massage.

Leanna has a strong, holistic belief that wellness and health of an individual can only be attained through care and balance of the mind/body and spirit. To that end, she devotes her time and energy to seeking all that supports this.  She loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, yoga, meditation, cooking, reading, many forms of fitness training and above all family.

Leanna’s clients continue to inspire/teach her and make her chosen career so rewarding and enjoyable.

imageAs a 2004 graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and veteran South Surrey practitioner, I bring a unique skill set to Leanna M. Parkes and Associates. In practice, I couple progressive, rehabilitation massage therapy with the promotion and augmentation of general well-being.

I am dedicated to my patients as well as my community. Since beginning my South Surrey practice in 2006, I have continuously upgraded my education and personal physical fitness as well as volunteered at numerous local events such as the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Great Pumpkin Run. My most recent accomplishment was acceptance into the 2018 graduating class of the UBC School of Medicine.

My overreaching goal in practice is to provide a customized, effective massage therapy experience that is underpinned by each of my patient’s unique values, beliefs and goals. I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue practising, though on a limited basis, as a Registered Massage Therapist while pursuing my education in medicine. I have an infectious passion for life and good health.
